ZERO is the new electrolyte sport drink tablet from High5. It is designed for use before, during and after exercise. One tablet dropped into 500ml of water produces a delicious, refreshing, zero-sugar, low-carb, anti-cramp electrolyte drink with added magnesium. Each tube contains 20 tablets and makes 10 litres of electrolyte drink.

Whatever your sport, whatever the terrain, you can throw a tube of ZERO in your bag and stay hydrated all day long. On long rides or endurance events simply drop the tube in your jersey or pack and turn every water stop into a source of optimal hydration. FAT BURN SYSTEM:
ZERO is part of the High5 Fat Burn system. This comes in 2 parts: ZERO and GT100, a green tea extract. The aim of the system is to increase the amount of fat oxidised (burnt) during exercise. In preliminary testing at Glasgow University, replacing carbohydrate drinks with ZERO has substantially increased the amount of fat burnt during exercise for athletes under test. Adding GT100 our new green tea extract has increased this even further. GT100 will be available once testing is finalised in a few months.

Fat Loss:
By increasing the amount of fat burnt using ZERO and GT100 and reducing your calorie intake during exercise (the carbohydrate in a normal sports drink contains calories) it’s a good bet that will be on track to lose some body fat. Research is underway to see exactly how much.

Train Low Race High:
This is a protocol where you train low without carbohydrate (using ZERO for example) and compete high with a carbohydrate drink like EnergySource.
The theory is that by forcing your body to train without carbohydrate you adapt and burn more fat overall as fuel. In addition you are able to tolerate low glycogen levels better in race conditions. This is currently practiced by a number of pro cycling teams. We have one research study running and are scheduling others to look at this in depth.
